What would happen if we inherited things from strangers? When Ione, the film’s director, moves into the Garcia brothers’ house, she discovers that their lives continue to lie dormant in the objects they left behind: in a piano, hundreds of drawings, thousands of photos and a pile of cassettes. Antonio was a comic book artist at the Bruguera publishing house, Rosita was an opera singer and pianist. Together with his brother Juanito, they turned their home into a space of creation and fiction from which to escape the gray reality of Franco’s dictatorship; they were classic movie stars, World War II soldiers, gangsters, astronauts, science fiction heroines, lonely cowboys on an eternal journey to the West… their memory holds the history of the 20th century. Years later, with new inhabitants, the house is still a place where life can be different.
