Un solitario baile con el miedo (A solitary dance with fear) offers an entertaining, profound and amusing vision of one of the most enigmatic writers of the 20th century: Cristóbal Serra.
In this documentary, directed by the Mallorcan Marga Melià, Serra’s friends and disciples review his contribution to literature while constructing an endearing portrait of this solitary and extravagant sage, talking openly about his alleged contacts with the afterlife, his peculiar relationship with women, his obsessions and his fears. Despite having been recognized as a cult writer by figures of the stature of Nobel Literature Prize winner Octavio Paz, Serra remains, on the centenary of his birth, an unknown figure to the vast majority.
