On July 3, 1973, David Bowie retired Ziggy Stardust, his most famous alter-ego, in front of 5,000 incredulous fans on stage at London’s Hammersmith Odeon. Fifty years later, Ziggy will return to that same stage for one night only.
On July 3, 2023, the Eventim Apollo (formerly the Odeon) will host the world premiere of “Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: The Movie,” which will also be shown in more than 1,000 theaters worldwide during the month of July.
The film screening will be preceded by an exclusive onstage conversation with Bowie’s collaborators and contemporary musicians. They will talk about the legacy of the original show and Ziggy’s pan-generational resonance.
