Puccini’s composition is brimming with musical prowess (including the famous “Nessun dorma” aria), and Andrei Serban’s production draws on Chinese theater traditions to create a fantastic reproduction of ancient Peking. Antonio Pappano directs Anna Pirozzi in the title role and Yonghoon Lee as Calaf.
