From an early age, Jan Mikolášek was fascinated by plants and their medicinal properties. Soon, he became one of the greatest “healers” of his time. At the time of the war and its subsequent crisis, he devoted his life to dealing without distinction with rich and poor, with Nazis during the occupation and with Communists after the war. His popularity eventually irritated the political authorities. Accused of being a charlatan, Mikolášek had to prove the validity of his science during his trial.
