Private Franz Streitberger is a courier for the Third Reich during World War II. One day, just before an attack on the allies, Franz finds a badly wounded fox cub that he decides to take care of, offering it the warmth of home that he always lacked in his childhood. From that moment on, the fox becomes his best friend, and although he could escape at any moment, he remains a faithful companion to the soldier throughout most of the war. Until 1941, when Franz had a new destiny: the Russian front.
