Scarlet

JJuliette grows up alone with her father Raphaël somewhere in northern France. There they are marginalized by the rest of the village but, among themselves, they live in loving harmony. He is a World War I veteran who is now an extremely talented woodworker. The girl, passionate about singing and music, meets a sorceress one summer who promises her that, one day, she will see scarlet candles in the sky that will take her out of her village. Juliette never stops believing in this prophecy.
